Risks were characterized using the HQ approach (Nabholz 1991). HQs can be used to characterize the
probability of adverse effects to ecological receptors and often focuses on phylogenetic groups (e.g.,
algae, invertebrates, and fish). HQs are defined as the quotient of the PECs and PNECs:
