Chemical Properties and
Introduction
This booklet is the second in a series, the first being
"Physical Properties of Glycerine and its Solutions,"
published in 1963. Together, they present the more
important available data on this versatile chemical
compound.
One of the significant things about glycerine is the
scientific background which history has contributed to
its properties and reactions - extending over far more
years and into more obscure corners of research and
technology…
Abstract:
Adsorption isotherms of four Polyquaternium-10 polymers (PQ-10) (quaternary ammonium derivatives of
hydroxyethyl cellulose) by activated sludge mixed liquor solids (MLS) were obtained using phenol method with
matrix-matched calibration standards (low molecular mass JR-125 and LR-400 and high molecular mass JR-30M
and LR-30M). Solution concentrations of all PQ-10 polymers at low dosing were negligible, within the limitation of
the analytical method used. At some level of dosing…

FATTY ACIDS IMPROVE UNIFORMITY
Soap composition can make or break a lubricating
grease. However, the full effect of the fatty acid com-
ponents upon grease performance is not yet scientifi-
cally defined. Many practical findings about fats and
fatty acids guide the greasemaker, but they do not
show up consistently in purchase specifications for
these materials, even when intended for use in the
same type…
