The American Cleaning Institute (ACI) announced the appointment of Nathan Sell as Senior Director, Sustainability.
In this role, Mr. Sell will be responsible for leading, developing, and executing all facets of the ACI sustainability program, which began with an initial set of aspirational principles in 2004 and has evolved into a series of initiatives promoting and driving the sustainability progress of ACI members throughout the cleaning product supply chain.
Mr. Sell joined ACI in 2020, serving as Director of Regulatory Science, where he was responsible for the development and management of research strategies related to the safety of cleaning product ingredients, and served as a point of contact for ACI’s chemical management and regulatory programs and helped expand scientific understanding of ACI chemistry tools and technologies. Prior to his work at ACI, Mr. Sell held positions at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), where he was a Chemical Review Manager in the Office of Pesticide Programs, a Technical Writer and Editor for the Office of Science Coordination and Policy and an ORISE Research Participant in the Office of Water, where he worked on climate change adaptation and resilience.
