The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has named the American Cleaning Institute (ACI), the trade association for the U.S. cleaning product supply chain, as a Safer Choice Partner of the Year. This honor is ACI’s fifth recognition as a Safer Choice Partner of the Year.
EPA’s Safer Choice helps consumers, businesses and purchasers find products that perform and contain ingredients that are safer for human health and the environment.
Throughout 2023, ACI supported EPA’s Safer Choice program, amplifying its importance and necessity in newsletters and across social media. ACI brought EPA Safer Choice and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) together via its Healthy Schools, Healthy People initiative, which promoted the Safer Choice and Design for the Environment labels. In addition, ACI hosted an EPA Day during its 2023 Mid-Year Meeting, bringing industry face-to-face with EPA officials to discuss priorities and learn about the Safer Choice label. ACI also used its platform to share EPA Safer Choice’s social media toolkit and consulted the program on outreach opportunities.
