Marie Gargas serves as the Senior Director of Regulatory and International Affairs at the American Cleaning Institute. In managing environmental health and safety regulatory issues, she collaborates with scientists and regulatory experts to develop and direct research strategies that support scientifically and technically sound positions of the cleaning products industry. Marie also fosters ACI's collaboration with organizations internationally.
Prior to joining ACI, Gargas was the Senior Technical Director of Regulatory Affairs at the Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS). Over her career, she has led issues management, programs, projects, and regulatory advocacy across environmental media, chemicals management and testing, analytical method development, process safety, occupational health and safety, industry standards and related aspects of industry sustainability and product stewardship.
Gargas earned a B.S. in chemistry with a minor in biology from The College of New Jersey and M.S. in environmental science from the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT).
